Why people who hold tension in the scalp, jaw and neck book this hour, and the honest limits of what a spa treatment can claim.

This is the reason a large share of our head spa bookings exist, so it is worth answering carefully and without overreach.
Here is the answer we give when somebody calls and asks directly. Many clients come in specifically because they hold tension in the scalp, jaw, and neck, and they leave feeling lighter. We keep the work relaxing rather than clinical; if you have a medical concern, check with your doctor.
That sentence has a boundary in it on purpose. We are a spa, not a clinic. Nobody here diagnoses anything, nobody is qualified to tell you why your head hurts, and any page promising to fix headaches for eighty-five dollars is selling you something it cannot deliver. What we can describe accurately is what the hour does with muscle.
Tension above the shoulders tends to collect in a few predictable places. The masseter, the thick muscle at the hinge of the jaw, which does an enormous amount of unconscious work if you clench at night or grind through a stressful week. The temples. The band of muscle that runs above the ear and across the side of the head. The suboccipitals, the small deep muscles at the shelf where skull meets spine, which is where people point when they say the ache starts at the back and travels forward. And the upper trapezius, the slope between neck and shoulder that rises a little further every year you spend at a desk.
A head spa spends the whole hour in exactly that territory, which is unusual. A standard massage passes through the neck and shoulders and moves on to the rest of you. This one never moves on. The scalp gets covered in sections with steady pressure, the jaw line and temples get direct attention, and the base of the skull typically gets the most of anything.
What people describe afterwards is consistent enough to repeat, with the caveat that it is anecdote rather than evidence. Their jaw sits differently. The back of the head feels wider. Whatever was pulling from behind the eyes is quieter for the rest of the evening. Some notice they had been holding their shoulders up around their ears and did not know it.
The limits deserve equal space. If your headaches are frequent, severe, sudden in onset, or paired with anything neurological, a spa appointment is not where that belongs and going to a doctor first is not a formality. If a physician has told you to avoid pressure around your head or neck, follow that rather than this page. And if you are on the fence for medical reasons, ask them before you book rather than asking us.
Within those limits, it is an hour of quiet, warmth and detailed work on the exact muscles that carry a hard week. Sixty minutes, eighty-five dollars, seven days a week until ten at night.

"Spotless, and all the staff were very nice. We set an appointment for a couples massage and they had a nice two-bed room ready when we arrived. Highly recommend."
